    In traditional lithium-ion batteries, when lithium ions are embedded in a carbon-based negative electrode material to form a graphite interlayer compound, lithium ions are no longer in an ionic state, but in a metastable state, and their reactivity is very strong, which is closer to metallic lithium. The shortcoming of the traditional lithium-ion battery's safety lies in the negative electrode. As long as a carbon-based negative electrode material is used, the hidden safety hazards cannot be fundamentally solved.

    The use of lithium titanate anode material can ensure that lithium is always in an ionic state. Under extreme conditions, even if the positive electrode has begun to evolve oxygen, the lithium titanate negative electrode after lithium insertion will not react with oxygen, which ensures the intrinsic safety of the battery.
